Plagues of Egypt Bible Study

God made a promise to Abraham—a promise to give him descendants, to give them land, and to bless all families of the earth through the Messiah. But years later, Abraham’s descendants—the Israelites—were slaves in Egypt. They cried to God, and He heard them. He prepared a deliverer—Moses—who would lead His people out of Egypt to the land He had promised to Abraham. Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, refused to let God’s people leave.

This study covers the ten plagues that God sent to Egypt, the reasons why God sent the plagues, and how God’s judgment and mercy to Egypt teach us about God’s judgment and mercy to us today.

This study contains 14 lessons. If this study is done on a daily basis in a devotional or homeschool setting, it will take approximately three weeks to complete. In order to complete this study, the child will need to have mastered the skills of using a dictionary and reading confidently. We recommend this study for Grade 3 and up. Parents or teachers, however, should decide whether their student/child will be able to complete this study. As always, parents and teachers should be prepared to give assistance wherever needed. After completing the study, the child can fill out our Finished Study Form on childrensbiblesociety.com to receive a certificate and sticker for their Bible Study Progress Chart. This chart is a free download from the Bible Studies page on childrensbiblesociety.com.

We suggest this study be used in settings such as: family devotions, personal Bible study, Sunday school, homeschool Bible class, and more. At the end of this study is a summary sheet with the main truth(s) and verse(s) from each study. You can memorize these truths and verses to help lock them in your heart.
